ABOUT THE SPIRAL ISLAND WEBSITE:The new Richie Sowa's Spiral Island website is being developed and managed by Randy McCallum, a friend of Richie Sowa's from Canada. RandyMac met Richie Sowa in January 2001, at a restaurant in Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo, Mexico and they became good friends during and after RandyMac's moved back to Canada from Paamul Mexico in 2001. RandyMac originally created a site for Spiral Island back in 2001, which was hosted on Apple's .Mac service, and then he started a weblog for Spiral Island on Google's Blogger, but moved to Switzerland and was not able to continue the site. Recently, Randy Mac returned to Canada and started working on web design again. After considering the state of the previous Spiral Island site and it's limitations, RandyMac decided to create this all new, more powerful Spiral Island web-portal for Richie Sowa to house the history and many photos of Spiral Island. After researching development tools and open-source CMS (content management systems), RandyMac chose the open-source content management system of Joomla!, the dynamic software used to power thousands of websites worldwide, and then set out in April 2006 to develop this new Spiral Island webportal for his friend Richie Sowa, to help tell Richie's story to the world. Please be patient. Richie only has access to his email every other week. He does try to return as many emails as possible, but Internet Cafe costs are very expensive in his area and he can't afford to return all emails due to the volume of emails he receives each week.
