It's important to learn and know some Spanish when you travel to Mexico. Whenever you make a transaction or wish to discuss money, or communicate with locals in Mexico, you can get by with hand waving gestures and broken Spanglish, but nothing is better than gringos learning basic Spanish phrases, terms, and numbers.
